We’re hiring a Jr. Buyer to support and help us maintain a seamless supply chain, from sourcing to supplier performance. If you're detail-oriented and get excited about finding cost-saving opportunities, this role is made for you.
About the Role
The Jr. Buyer plays a key role in our procurement and inventory operations. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you’ll work closely with the Procurement Specialist, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to support purchasing, monitor supplier performance, and manage inventory for the Guelph yard.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build their career in supply chain while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. It also provides backup support to our Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, including loading and unloading trucks when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and issue purchase orders for stock and non-stock items
- Track supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of materials and services
- Manage inventory locations and part numbers in coordination with the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
- Maintain accurate supplier records and master lists
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support monthly reporting
- Support the Finance team by resolving procurement documentation issues
- Assist with Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) related to products or suppliers
- Develop strong supplier relationships to support long-term success
What You Bring
- 1+ year of purchasing experience in manufacturing or construction
- 2+ years of supply chain/procurement experience
- SCMP designation (in progress or completed) is an asset
- Valid Forklift and Driver’s License
- Familiarity with ERP systems—experience with NetSuite is a plus
- Experience with supplier management, parts and materials ordering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and a natural team player
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Work Environment
- Work Location: In person at at our Guelph facility
- 40-hour work week
Compensation
- Salary: $55,000CAD – $60,000CAD
- Extras: Comprehensive benefits package, including health & dental coverage and a matching RRSP program
