This is a 3 month contract
Purpose of the Role:
The Install Operator is responsible for safe and efficient screw pile installation, including occasional Field Supervisor duties. They ensure customer satisfaction, maintain safety standards, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate records.
Key Accountabilities:
- Execute duties from Swamper to Loader/Install Operator.
- Mentors junior positions.
- Correct piles during installation, handle extensions, and install various pile types.
- Read and follow specifications from plans and drawings accurately.
- Understand factors affecting installation, including torque, embedment, and ground conditions.
- Communicate with other departments to resolve issues.
- Perform equipment maintenance and follow safety procedures diligently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 1 is an asset).
- Basic construction tools and quality assurance skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor construction environment.
- Field safety tickets including First Aid, H2S, CSTS, Fall Protection, and Ground Disturbance are an asses
- This is a safety sensitive position and will require candidates to comply with Almita’s drug and alcohol program.
Experience:
- Industry-related tool knowledge and machine operating experience are assets.
- Previous construction and leadership experience preferred.
- Experience operating equipment, specifically an excavator.
Work Environment:
- Construction environment
- Exposure to loud noises and extreme temperatures
- Usually outdoors, including travel to remote locations
- Physical elements include bending, twisting, crouching, kneeling, standing for long periods of time, lifting weights up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
- Work schedule may vary; shift work
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
